Tappan Zee High School’s Math Team has achieved the top score in Rockland County for the first time since the pandemic!
Twelve members of the Tappan Zee High School History Honor Society competed in the Lower Hudson Valley History Day Contest on March 29. Senior Owen E. placed third in the individual exhibit category and juniors Elise K. And Emily L. placed second in the group exhibit category and qualified for the New York State History Day Contest at SUNY Oneonta on April 27!
Tappan Zee High School is proud to announce that senior Angelique Cerbolles and juniors Alison Lattimer and Lukas Witek have been selected to perform in the prestigious 2025 National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Ensembles at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT, from April 24-27.
Tappan Zee High School AP Environmental Science students connected with county peers and mentor professionals at the annual Rockland Planning Land Use with Students (PLUS) Symposium at St. Thomas Aquinas College on April 4.
From March 21-23, delegates from the Tappan Zee High School Youth and Government Club participated in the annual New York State YMCA Youth and Government State Conference in Albany!
SO BOTZ has won their way to the 2025 FIRST World Championship!
After leaving the Hudson Valley Regional FIRST Robotics Competition with the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award, Volunteer of the Year Award and Judges’ Award a week earlier, the team captured the Engineering Inspiration Award (for a second consecutive year!) and was on the winning alliance at the Finger Lakes Regional last weekend.
“Everyone’s like family” is not only the slogan on the SOMS Italian Club t-shirt, it was also a fitting theme for the annual SOCES/SOMS PTA We The People multicultural celebration on March 15.
The half-day event, held on March 14, enabled students to attend three sessions of their choice, featuring guest speakers on a variety of careers, including advertising; automotive, biomedical, construction and software engineering; culinary; financial services; graphic design; healthcare; higher education; human resources; law and law enforcement; sports broadcasting and TV/film/music production; and veterinary medicine. Several TZHS administrators and faculty offered sessions on areas of interest–from podcasting to sports photography–too!
